The new gene that creates Blue in Angelfish, "Philippine Blue" was identified and developed by Ken Kennedy in the Philippines. Ken saw the potential in the Platinum Angelfish (a gold and Philippine Blue combination) which carries the Philippine Blue gene even without it being recognized as a new strain. He put a lot of hard work and effort crossing these Platinum Angelfish with different types of angelfish adding blue color to any type of angelfish strain we see today. He has now named this gene "Philippine Blue". Probably the most famous of his work is what he has named "Pinoy". This is a Dark/Black Angelfish with the Philippine Blue gene. Another beautiful angelfish he has developed is what he has called "Paraiba" which is a Blushing Angelfish with the Philippine Blue Gene. We were very fortunate to acquire some of Ken's stock last year and now have our own Breeders of Pinoys, Paraibas, Blue Silver, plus other variations of Blue Angelfish. The Pinoy Angelfish was the first that Anglefish USA started to raise and sell, and now we have: Pinoy's, Blue Smokey's, Pinoy Smokey's, Blue Silvers, Pinoy Zebra's, Blue Zebra's, Blue Ghosts, and many many more to be available soon. We will have both Standard and Veil, and they will carry both the pearlscale and albino genes. CLICK HERE TO SEE WHAT IS AVAILABLE AND PLACE AN ORDER. WE WILL BE UPDATING THIS PAGE WITH IMAGES OF MANY DIFFERENT ANGELFISH THAT HAVE THE PHILIPPINE BLUE GENE SHORTLY. |
